She is a self-taught artist with absolutely no formal education in art. She is a Chemistry graduate and have stayed abroad for good three decades. There she was actively involved in art, teaching as well as taking part in exhibitions. Many of her paintings are in private collections.

After returning to India, she has continued her journey in art in the same fashion. Her principal areas of interest are landscape painting and paintings in impressionist style.

Though she has never appeared in government conducted grade exams, she has been coaching aspiring students with excellent results for the same.

She has received several awards as well as commendations for her work.
